ENCORE CONDUCTOR

Encore Creativity for Older Adults, the nation’s largest choral organization for adults over the age of 55 years, seeks to expand our team of talented conductors.

We’re currently hiring regular (15 and 30-week rehearsal contracts) and substitute (intermittent contracts based on need) conductors to lead our Chorale, ROCKS, and Sentimental Journey Singers ensembles in the following regions:

California (Southern)

Delaware

Florida

Maryland

North Carolina

Virginia (Northern)

Washington DC

Washington State

All Encore Creativity conductors will:

Lead assigned Encore Chorale, ROCKS, and/or Sentimental Journey Singers during weekly 90-minute rehearsals over a 15-week semester

Provide basic instruction on music notation, reading, and proper vocalization skills

Conduct assigned Encore Chorale, ROCKS, and/or Sentimental Journey Singers during semester-ending performances

Participate in monthly Zoom conductor meetings with Encore Creativity’s Artistic Director

*All repertoire is selected and assigned by Encore Creativity’s Artistic Director prior to each 15-week semester.

**No accompanists are provided for weekly rehearsals, so piano skills are a must.
