Seattle Pro Musica welcomes audiences to a new year of concerts and events celebrating the power of singing in harmony. They have lots in store this season to tantalize and inspire fans of top-notch choral music and newcomers alike.
Travel with SPM in December to the British Isles for Nowell, featuring works by rising young composers like Kerensa Briggs, Rebecca Dale, Joanna Marsh, and Lucy Walker, as well as audience favorites by Herbert Howells and William Walton.
In March, join SPM for When Thunder Comes with guest composer Mari Esabel Valverde. Valverde will visit Seattle for a week-long residency with local school choirs, who will then join the singers of SPM in a performance of some of her most powerful work.
SPM’s May concert The World Is Charged offers the rare opportunity to hear a concert combining choral singing with solo cello, featuring cellist Nathan Chan. A stellar musician and social media star, Chan embraces technology to introduce new generations to classical music. With repertoire chosen specifically for the amazing acoustic of St. James Cathedral, this will be a musical treat listeners won’t want to miss.
With these concerts plus fabulous fundraisers, including a new foray into musical storytelling, SPM continues to give audiences new ways to find something they’ll love.
