The Susquehanna Alta Voce Chorale To Participate in the 2025 ACDA National Commission Consortium

The Susquehanna Alta Voce Chorale (SAVC), under the direction of Mitchell Sensenig-Wilshire, will be participating in the 2025 ACDA Soprano-Alto Choirs National Commission Consortium. The newly commissioned piece will be completed in May 2025 and performed by the SAVC at the Youth Choral Festival in November 2025.

Director Sensenig-Wilshire says, “The SAVC is honored and excited to be participating in this national consortium and it’s thrilling for us to become part of the legacy. We are glad to be among the ensembles dedicated to furthering the creation of new, high-quality repertoire for advanced treble ensembles.”

The SAVC has previously performed three commissioned pieces by the consortium: Rise Up! by Jake Runestad, Spring Shall Bloom by Susan LaBarr, and Moon Goddess by Jocelyn Hagen.

The Susquehanna Alta Voce Chorale consists of 36 auditioned treble voices for singers in grades 9 through the first year of college. Formerly known as the Susquehanna Young Women’s Chorale, the ensemble was established in 2007 as part of the Educational Outreach Program of The Susquehanna Chorale, under the direction of Linda L. Tedford, Artistic Director, Founder, and Conductor. The group brings together promising young musicians from across Central Pennsylvania to give talented young singers the opportunity to rehearse and perform with other highly motivated students at an advanced level of artistic excellence.
